VP of Finance

?? Compensation: $200,000 base + up to $80,000 bonus
?? Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Position Summary
We are seeking a highly detailed, driven VP of Finance with a strong background in real estate accounting. This role will oversee the full accounting function, lead the accounting team, and play a key role in financial strategy, reporting, and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the accounting department, including supervision of the Corporate Controller and Financial Analyst
- Ensure timely and accurate month-end close
- Review and analyze monthly apartment operating statements
- Oversee consolidation (roll-up) of all entities, including P&L and cash flow reporting
- Maintain and update operating proformas (minimum quarterly)
- Prepare and deliver quarterly financial and board reporting packages
- Oversee appraisals and loan draws
- Serve as the primary point of contact for lenders and banking relationships
- Prepare ad hoc financial models, proformas, and cash flow analyses
- Ensure strong internal controls, audit readiness, and financial accuracy
Required Qualifications (Must-Have)
- Extensive real estate accounting experience
- Hands-on experience with:
- Cost segregation
- Property tax appeals
- Closing statement journal entries
- Loan closing journal entries
- Audit preparation
- Job costing
- Corporate banking
- Proven leadership experience managing accounting teams
- High attention to detail and strong analytical skills
- Experience working in multi-entity environments
Technical Requirements
- JD Edwards (JDE) experience required
- Strong financial modeling and reporting skills
- Advanced Excel proficiency
